The Bright Sheng Partnership: Composers meet Performers in Hong Kong 2014.

Hailed by the Financial Times as the "city's most innovative musical experience," The Intimacy of Creativity returns to Hong Kong 21 April – 4 May, 2014 for its exciting fourth season!

Artistic Director and internationally-renowned composer, conductor, and pianist, Bright Sheng, will be joined by Distinguished Guest Artist, renowned cellist, and Rostropovich International Competition Winner, Gary Hoffman; Distinguished Guest Composer/Artist and Artistic Director of the American Composers Orchestra, Derek Bermel; Distinguished Guest Composer and Vice President of the Central Conservatory of Music, Ye Xiaogang; Special Guest Artist, internationally acclaimed violin virtuoso Zhu Dan; and Ensemble-in-Residence, the New Fromm Players of Tanglewood Music Center; along with other Guest Artists.

Up to six Composer Fellows between the ages of 25 and 35 will be selected to participate. One or two participating composers may be offered a one-year renewable position at HKUST as Composer-in-Residence/Visiting Scholar in the Division of Humanities.

In addition, the work of one Composer Fellow will be selected through audience vote at the IC2014 World Premiere Concerts to be presented during the 2015 Fifth Anniversary Season of The Intimacy of Creativity.

After the succeddful world premiere of violin concerto Let Fly at Detroit Symphony Orchestra with Gil Shaham, Lenard Slatkin, and Fayfay Sheng October 4-6 2013. The piece was inspired by the birth of Fayfay Sheng and dedicate to Gil Shaham. Thanks to hard work of musicians from DSO and input of Leonard and Gil!. Especially Thanks to Maxine & Stuart Frankel Foundation!
